PFAS - Avoidable, Replaceable, Indispensable?!

Against the backdrop of the European Union's efforts to regulate the class of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), we invite stakeholders from science, industry, authorities, and other relevant institutes to jointly discuss the contentious issues surrounding PFAS and how to address them in the future. We aim to explore this controversial topic from multiple perspectives at the workshop and foster a well-informed professional dialogue. To this end, the invited speakers will highlight various applications where PFAS may be avoidable, substitutable, or indispensable.

The CRC 1349 together with the GDCh is organizing a workshop on PFAS on April 7 and 8, 2025 at the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Freie Universität Berlin (Arnimallee 22, 14195 Berlin-Dahlem). The speakers confirmed so far are
